On the 5th and 6th of October a team from Riverlands Polo Club comprising of Bruno Mascart (-1) Spencer Young (0) Adam Meally (3) and Tom Morley (6) travelled to Beijing, China to represent Riverlands and Australia in the first ever Beijing Open International Polo Tournament.
Our first match saw us up against an 18 goal team from Brazil, after a hard fought game Brazil came out winners which put them though to the finals against a 15 goal team from New Zealand. Brazil beat New Zealand in the final 5 – 0 and Riverlands beat China comfortably 5-2 to put us third over all.
Mr Xia from the Sunny Time Polo Club was the perfect host giving us VVIP treatment and also organizing some amazing tours to show us the sights of Beijing.
