Lease Ponies
Riverlands has anywhere from 20-30 lease ponies available for hire during the season for tournaments and practice chukkas. These horses are leased out on a ‘first-in-first-served’ basis and they do lease very quickly.
To play a tournament you would need to lease at least 2 ponies for a 4-chukka match. There are two levels of lease ponies: those for beginners and those for more advanced riders wanting more from their ponies in terms of horse skill and ability.

Please note that charges for tournament leasing are different to casual play at Riverlands.

Livery and Agistment
Riverlands Livery Service offers stabling and turn out paddocksfor a large number of clients’ horses in a safe and comfortable environment.
This service includes:
- Feed – 3 x hard feed &Lucerne hay daily
- Work – Chukkas, fast practice matches, exercise sets and horse walker
- Schooling one day a week
- Tacking of horses
- Tack care and storage
- Grooming
- Stall bedding
Extra costs include:
- Veterinary
- Shoeing
- Medical care
- Dentistry
- Washing of blankets & bandages
- Tack repairs
- Transport
All livery horses need the following equipment supplied and paid for by clients:
- Halter
- Blankets – day rugs and night rugs
- Bandages – recommend practice set and tournament set
- Tack – bridles, saddle cloths and saddles
All of these items can be purchased through the Riverlands Shop.
Horses are stabled during the day and placed in turnout paddocks in the afternoon and overnight, with a rest day every Monday.
